許多人架站都是使用 MySQL 當成資料庫軟體，但是自從 MySQL 賣給 Oracle 後，原本的開發者為了怕 Oracle 有一天就不開放 MySQL 的原始碼了，所以開發了「MariaDB」這個資料庫軟體。這軟體是由 MySQL 的程式碼修改的分支版本。使用方式跟 MySQL 完全一模一樣，語法也都相同，而且是由 MySQL 的創始人所開發，所以有一定的保障，而且企業授權的成本也遠低於 MySQL，我覺得是一套企業或是個人可以導入的資料庫軟體。
