臉書（Facebook）營運長Sheryl Sandberg的丈夫Dave Goldberg，5月1日在健身房運動時驟逝，享年47歲。數日之後的追思會結束時，Sheryl Sandberg在臉書上發表悼念亡夫一文，句句感人至深。

看完Sheryl Sandberg鶼鰈情深的悼夫文，很少人能不在電腦螢幕前動容的。4百餘英文字，娓娓道來兩人的相識相戀、相伴相攜。最感人的，大概要屬這一句：

If the day I walked down that aisle with Dave someone had told me that this would happen – that he would be taken from us all in just 11 years – I would still have walked down that aisle.

「如果當年我與Dave在步上紅地毯結婚的那一天，有人告訴我這會發生－11年之後他會離我們而去－我仍會走紅地毯嫁他。」

aisle是「走道、通道」，而片語walk down the aisle是指走教堂兩排座位中央的走道，也就是指「結婚」。記得那個畫面嗎：爸爸牽新娘女兒的手走紅地毯，交託付給新郎。aisle是國際職場上的核心字，首先它的讀音很重要，讀作[aɪl]，小心s不發音。在搭飛機要check in的時候，如果偏好「走道座位」而非「靠窗座位」的人，可以向航空公司的櫃台人員說：May I have an aisle seat, please?（請給我一個靠走道的座位。）此外，超級市場貨架間的走道也是aisle。

例句：Staplers are in aisle four, next to the printer paper.（釘書機放在第四走道上的影印紙旁邊。）

在離婚率高又怨偶滿街的今天，能夠看到深愛彼此的夫妻，難能可貴。臉書營運長Sheryl Sandberg與丈夫Dave Goldberg結縭11載，她能對亡夫說出這番思念的話語，可見Dave Goldberg在「丈夫」這個角色上是成功的，她形容丈夫Dave Goldberg是她的「磐石」；在她心煩意亂時，他能冷靜；在她擔憂時，他總說事情會順利；在她疑慮的時候，他能想出辦法。他倆真是一對你儂我儂的夫妻：

Dave was my rock. When I got upset, he stayed calm. When I was worried, he said it would be ok. When I wasn’t sure what to do, he figured it out.
