苗栗縣長劉政鴻今天上午參加台灣競爭力論壇在縣政府舉辦的「2013苗栗經濟高峰論壇」，致詞時特別提及大埔拆遷爭議事件，強調拆遷是不得已的選擇，手心手背都是肉，他也很同情受拆戶，才會花3年多的時間溝通協調，展現政府最大誠意。

他表示，處理大埔事件是秉持人道、王道及霸道，人道是妥善照顧縣民，王道是要有策略、方法，霸道是為顧及多數人的公共利益，希望各界理解。
