蘋果在美國當地時間8月28日，與媒體發出邀請函，和瘋先生之前預測時間與謠言不謀而合，本次邀請函上是美西太平洋時間9月9日上午10點，台灣時間是9月10日凌晨1點，今年邀請函上標示著「Wish we could say more.」，中文意思指希望我們能多說一點，想必會有兩種尺寸的iPhone6、iPad Air2、謠傳的iWatch等產品現身。

此次發表會選在30年前Steve Jobs賈伯斯發表第一款Mac電腦的蘋果校園，地點就在加州庫柏蒂諾總部旁的迪安薩學院（De Anza College）佛林特表演藝術中心（the Flint Center for the Performing Arts），從圖中可清楚看見這次場地被純白的外表所包覆住，外圍設有路障民眾無法隨意靠近。
