皮凱提：歐洲單靠貨幣政策無法阻止通縮

法國知名經濟學家皮凱提表示，歐洲應從日本學到教訓，即單靠貨幣政策無法阻止經濟陷入通縮。

皮凱提在東京接受訪問時表示，「得到的教訓之一，是光靠印鈔票還不夠。印鈔票會造成股市及房市泡沫，未必會拉高消費者物價及經濟成長」。

他指出，「歐洲目前經濟成長非常糟，我認為原因是撙節過度，我們想要過速降低政府赤字，因而扼殺經濟成長。我們現在碰到一些跟日本類似的通縮問題」。

他表示，「日本應該重新平衡租稅制度，使年輕一代受益，他們現在很難取得房地產」。他主張對財富課徵累進稅，並批評安倍政府提高消費稅實屬不當。他說，「我認為安倍所採取的提高消費稅措施，並非緩和日本貧富差距的好辦法」。
