院士會議開幕 翁啟惠強調學術獨立

中研院第31次院士會議今天上午開幕，為期四天的議程將選出新科院士，中研院院長翁啟惠在開幕致詞時強調，鼓勵中研院同仁基於其價值與信念，以超然的學術立場，對社會、制度乃至於國家整體發展提出建言，為公平正義發聲。翁啟惠更強調，只要在法律許可範圍內，都應該讓中研院的學術有充分發表言論的自由。

過去一年來，中研院學者勇於針對學運與社運活動發聲，中研院更發表12本政策建議書。翁啟惠上午在院士會議開幕致詞時，特別在講稿中以1/3的篇幅闡述學術自由，公開鼓勵中研院的院士與研究員展現知識份子勇氣，堅守真理為公平正義發聲。
