台灣動物緊急救援小組日前在高雄市楠梓區救援一隻疑遭棄養的瑪爾濟斯老狗，發現牠腹部拖著一顆直徑超過10公分的巨大腫瘤，就醫診斷確認狗竟罹患乳癌，且腫瘤重達半公斤，佔體重四分之一，資深志工倪京台說，狗狗腫瘤拖到這麼嚴重才處理，相當罕見。

資深志工倪京台說，會協助狗兒進行乳房腫瘤切除手術，雖然切除面積廣大有生命危險，仍將全力救治，呼籲飼主不要因寵物生病就棄養。
